Berber Esha knew at a very young age that she wanted to sing and perform. In primary and secondary school she performed every week, whenever and wherever she could.
Next she started pre-education at a musical academy and after that she auditioned at the Pop Academy in Leeuwarden When she got in she started to do lots of backing vocals for Big Dutch artists like Postman and The Opposites and played and sang in a Theatre Tour called The Soultrain. After some more studio work and backing vocals for Dutch rappers and artists like; Darryl, Dio, Ali B, The Opposites, Postman and Aaliyah, she started writing songs for herself but als for other artists. She signed a publishing deal with Talpa, a record deal with Warner Music and released her first single under the name Esha. Through this she met Warner Singer/Songwriter Jason Derulo, who signed her as his first artist on his own label ‘Future History’. After she had recorded a lot of songs with Jason, she moved to Los Angeles to record her EP. She lived there for 2,5 years and worked on her own project but also wrote songs for others. At the moment she has almost finished her own music and is performing a lot in several bands and acts. She is booked a lot as a Vocal MC but also for ceremonies. From quiet, acoustic, romantic sets to Funk and Soul, even Rock, she can do it all! The most important thing in her music is sharing an emotion. Where words are missing, music always speaks.
Music brings people together, it doesn’t matter where you come from or what language you speak, you can still feel the music, even though you don’t understand the words. It’s the mother language of the heart.
